Facing The Enemy


I face my worst enemy
Early every day
Tries to drag me down
Questions what I say
Tells me I can't do it
Says I'm bound to fail
Fills me with anxiety
Makes me want to bail
Erodes my inner self belief
Gets deep inside my head
Stops my plans before they start
So I do something else instead
Plays on my addictions
Knows me to my core
Destroys my positivity
Like many days before
Kills my motivation
Fans the flames of fear
Laughs at my intentions
mocks my best idea
I face my own worst enemy
In the mirror everyday
I think I've got him beaten
I'll just look the other way
